17 year old Lee had never caught a fish over 16 pounds and was out to break his personal record.  He fished with his father Darrel and Dennis Champ on the ESPERANZA.  Lee brought in a very big Dorado effortlessly and the record was broken.  A couple of other Dorado were caught as well as 2 tuna. Kurt promised Lee a Sailfish but it will have to be on the next vacation (Captain Kurt of the Starship ESPERANZA was a bit rusty after 4 days in Seattle, amazing what the Pacific Northwest can do to a thin blooded resident of Puerto Vallarta).  This is a beautiful Dorado Lee, congratulations. 

If you look closely, you will see what this tuna has in his mouth.  If you can't make it out, you can probably make a good guess…………….Phil's jig!  Yes, they really do work and Phil looks pretty smug in this photo.
